Saudi Arabia
has declared victory over Yemeni Shi'ite rebels, after they offered a truce, and said they had withdrawn from all Saudi territory.

The Saudi Assistant Minister of Defense, Prince Khaled bin Sultan, said on Wednesday, that if the insurgents withdrew and returned Saudi prisoners, and stopped sniper attacks, Saudi Arabia will cease its bombing campaign.

He also said the problem will eventually become an internal affair for the Yemeni government.

The rebels made the cease fire offer on Monday, saying they wanted to avoid more bloodshed and protect civilians. Yemen's government has been fighting the rebels on and off since 2004.
